Donnie AndersonCentral highlights Criminal Justice Alumni Donnie Anderson, the Director of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

How has your experience at Central prepared you for a more advanced career in law enforcement?

I have been in law enforcement for over thirty years. Law enforcement has evolved dramatically over the last thirty years, and I can’t imagine what it will look like in the next thirty. The profession has changed considerably and is asking more of our career to have a higher education. If you want to reach the top of this profession before your career ends, I do not know that it is possible without an education. In Oklahoma, to become an OBN Agent, it is statutorily required for every person at the time of application to have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.

What would you say to prospective students who are interested in an advanced career in law enforcement and how would you communicate Central as a good fit?

When I chose to finish my education, I put much thought into my decision. I wanted the best education for my investment, so I decided on CCCK. It was important to me to obtain my degree from a faith-based college. I wanted and want to lead in my profession with a Christian worldview. Looking at what has transpired in law enforcement over the last several years, I believe having a Christian worldview is even more vital than ever. A person’s worldview will impact how they respond during high-stress and snap decisions. Christian law enforcement officials have a servant’s heart.
