Breana Miller Recipient of Maud Wyatt Scholarship
Central Christian College of Kansas is proud to announce that Junior, Breana Miller, an education major from Phoenix, AZ, was recently chosen as one of twenty recipients of the Maud Wyatt Scholarship.
A prestigious award, the Maud Wyatt Scholarship serves a dual purpose. First, it honors students for a record of achievement in the classroom and contributions to their community. At the same time, it recognizes a group of individuals and organizations who have supported private colleges in the state of Kansas for more than four decades—who care deeply about students and their potential for leading and serving.
With a GPA above 3.95, Breana is more than deserving of this award. Breana had this to say about her time so far at Central, a KICF institution, “I chose to attend a KICF institution because I fell in love with the campus and the family atmosphere that Central Christian College of Kansas had to offer. In all honesty, I never imagined attending a college in the middle of Kansas, but it ended up being one of the best decisions I have ever made.”
One of her mentors, Professor Cathy Brown, sees Breana as one with great integrity and resolve saying, “Breana has shown the highest level of character and academic skills throughout her time are Central. She participates in mentor programs, various clubs on campus as well as works as a college-based paraprofessional educator in a local school district. She is someone who exemplifies what we look for in a student, is well-liked and admired by faculty and students alike. She is preparing for her Student Teaching experience coming this Fall where she will be working in 5th grade.”
When asked about the impact she wants to have on Central during her time, Breana simply responded with, “I have always believed in the saying to “leave the campsite better than you found it,” which is exactly how I want to leave Central Christian College of Kansas. I want to make the institution a better place than the one I became a part of freshman year”.
Join us in congratulating Breana Miller CCCK’s Maud Wyatt Scholarship Recipient.
