Alumni Obituary – Robb W. Mitchell
Robert W. “Robb” Mitchell (CC’98), 50, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. He was born March 17, 1973, in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Robert Dean and Janice Lynn (Carlock) Mitchell.
Robb graduated from Zion Benton High School in Zion, Illinois and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas. He was employed as a Criminal Court Clerk by the Shawnee County District Court.
Survivors include his domestic partner of 12 years, Douglas Jones of Topeka, KS; sister, Kimber (Royal) Mellinger of McPherson, KS; and nine nieces and nephews, Doralynn, Nickolai, Tyler, Gavin, Tommie, Hailee, Luke, Tzeitel and Josh; his aunt and uncle that were like second parents to Robb, Joyce and Bill Stein of Illinois; and other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 29, with a memorial service to begin at 4:00 PM at the Topeka Wanamaker SDA Church, 2435 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka.
A second visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, May 1, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N Chestnut St, McPherson.
Private inurnment will take place in McPherson Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given through a fundraiser to offset funeral expenses through Angelink.com (type in Robb Mitchell) or by writing checks payable to Kimber Mellinger in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N. Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
