I spent the
first seven years of my life growing
up in the town of Farmingville, New York (Long Island). From that
point
on I spent most of my pre-college years jumping back and forth between
Colorado
and Florida. I graduated from Evergreen High School in
Colorado. It
was during that time that I began my relationship with Christ
Jesus.
Prior to High
School I was raised as a Jehovah's
Witness, which many people seem surprised to hear - especially as a
Religion and Psychology professor at a Christian college. During
High
School I
spent many afternoons rock-climbing with some friends who knew Christ
and patiently answered many
of my
questions. Eventually, I gave my heart and life to Christ and
received my
call to "Occupational Ministry" (I say that because I believe we are
all called to ministry). Originally, I had planned to continue my
education in Theatre/Entertainment. The Lord had other plans, of
which I
am very glad.
I attended Central Christian College, where I completed both an A.A.
and
B.S.
During that time I also met my dear wife Deanna (Dea). Over the
years,
Dea and I have had the sincere pleasure of networking with a number of
local
churches as well as serving on numerous regional and national
commissions such
as: International Youth Conference, PowerSurge, National Youth Council,
and the
National Student Ministry Team. My Masters Degree was completed
at Kansas State University (Go Wildcats!), in the area
of Organizational Psychology. I completed my Ph.D. at
Northcentral University where I focused on the subject of Followership..
I truly love teaching here at Central Christian
College.
I anticipate the beginning of each and everyday here.
Interacting
with students and wrestling with issues is a fantastic adventure.
And,
nothing turns my crank more than talking about how God is moving in the
world
today. I love bragging on God. Sharing about the incredible
works
He is doing in and through people. I especially love talking
about
God's role for leaders within the context of the emerging
culture.
I do not know where this journey will yet lead, but I take joy in
knowing that
come what may, I will always abide in the loving arms of my great Lord
and God.
